Description
Mastic Shutterplugs are shutter mounting hardware designed for a quick permanent exterior shutter installation. They are color-coordinated to match Mastic™ vinyl shutters and they make installing your outdoor shutters as easy as 1-2-3!
There are 12 shutterplugs included in each bag, which is enough to install 1 pair of vinyl exterior shutters. When you know that screws will not hold in your mounting surface and you don't want to take the time to install anchors, shutterplugs will make the job quicker and easier. They will even hold your vinyl shutters to the outside wall if you don't have any studs to drill into. You can use shutterplugs to mount your outdoor vinyl shutters to virtually any material, including:
- Wood
- Aluminum
- Vinyl
- Stucco
- T1-11
- Steel
- Fiber Cement
- Brick
- Faux Stone
- Composite
- Natural Stone
- Shingle
- Shake
- Concrete
- Adobe

Mastic shutterplugs are available in 15 colors that are designed to match your Mastic™ exterior vinyl shutters. However, they can also be painted to match virtually any brand of vinyl shutters.
Simply drill a 1/4" hole through the vinyl shutters into the side of the building, tap the shutterplug into the hole with a hammer, and you are done!

Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I remove the Shutterplugs from the vinyl shutters once they are in place?
Slide a chisel behind the vinyl shutter until it comes in contact with the Shutterplug. Make sure to keep the sharp edge of the chisel away from the wall. Give the chisel a sharp tap with a hammer and it will cut through the Shutterplug. After the shutter is removed, shear the remaining part of the Shutterplug flush with the surface and bore out the shank with a drill. Fill the hole with silicone to weatherproof. See our Vinyl Shutter Removal Instructions for additional information. - My exterior wall is uneven. How do I install my exterior vinyl shutters?
You can use ferrules (a short cylindrical pipe) as standoffs to keep your vinyl shutters stable. Simply paint them, trim to size, and mount them behind your exterior shutters. Do not to put wood blocks behind the vinyl exterior shutters because they will rot fairly quickly.
