The distinctive 3-panel and 2 mid rail design of P6 style shutters makes these raised panel shutters really stand out from other shutters on the market. These shutters are custom built after you place your order, and come in 9 1/4 inch, 12 inch, 14 1/2 inch, 16 1/2 inch, and 18 inch widths and 33 inch to 144 inch heights in 1/4 inch increments.
With 16 pre-molded colors and one paintable type of plastic available, you can match your exterior raised panel shutters with virtually any house paint color scheme. Add decorative black shutter hinges for the perfect finishing touch.
Construction
Mid-America custom vinyl shutters are made from discrete injection-molded plastic parts. The parts are injection-molded in specific widths at the Mid-America central factory. We then cut to height and join the parts using factory-supplied ultrasonic welding equipment. The end result is a strong joint that won't come apart even under the most stringent weather conditions. Each shutter is then hand inspected to ensure high quality construction before it is shipped.
NOTE: Due to the way vinyl shutters are constructed, the mid rails may not be placed at the exactly 20% and 60% of the shutter height. The percentages in the product title are only intended as a way to describe this shutter style, not as an exact specification.

Slide a chisel behind the shutter until it comes in contact with the Shutter-Lok. Make sure to keep the sharp edge of the chisel away from the wall. Give the chisel a sharp tap with a hammer and it will cut through the Shutter-Lok. After the shutter is removed, shear the remaining part of the Shutter-Lok flush with the surface and bore out the shank with a drill. Fill the hole with silicone to weatherproof. You can use ferrules (a short cylindrical pipe) as standoffs to keep your vinyl shutters stable. Simply paint them, trim to size, and mount them behind your exterior shutters. Do not to put wood blocks behind the vinyl exterior shutters because they will rot fairly quickly.
