Mid-America makes the world's best selling exterior vinyl shutters. And with so many available sizes, styles, and colors it is no wonder why. Made from weatherproof fade-resistant polypropylene (a durable type of plastic rated for outdoor use), Mid-America vinyl shutters are built to last and covered under a 40-year transferable warranty.
The S5-Z style Mid-America vinyl board and batten shutters are not available anywhere else. This exclusive shutter design was created in-house by our fabricators and we build and ship them directly to you. These board and batten shutters are covered by the same 40-year warranty as our other Mid-America products. They are available in 1/4 inch increments from 18 to 144 inches in height.
There are 15 available molded-through colors and one paintable type of vinyl available, meaning you will be able to match your vinyl shutters with virtually any house trim colors. Choose between patented Shutter-Loks for a quick permanent installation, or painted steel screws for a removable installation. Adding decorative hinges gives your exterior shutter installation a professional finishing touch.
Each pair consists of one forward "Z" and one reverse "Z" to complement your windows in an architecturally correct style.

Window shutters were originally created as window covers to literally "shut out" the sun, wind,
and cold because hand blown glass was too expensive and fragile for the common person to afford.
Most of those first shutters were latched on the inside and opened into the home's
interior. Over time glass became more widely available and the shutters were redesigned for the
exterior of the house to protect the glass which was still reletively expensive.
